From Kericho

Kericho is in Western Kenya, 4.5 hr drive from Nairobi. Its 2000-meter altitude and daily rainfall have allowed this town to become a vast tea plantation, often referred as “Kenya’s tea capital.” I came here in May to work for a community health project. I’ll be here only until November, but I’d like to share what I see, eat, learn and discover… during my short stay here through this blog.

ケニアの首都ナイロビから4時間半ほど西へ車を走らせると、ケリチョーに着く。標高2000メートルの土地とほぼ毎日雨が降る気候はお茶の栽培に適しており、「ケニアのお茶の首都」と呼ばれるまでお茶のプランテーションが広がっている。

5月末から11月までここでコミュニティ･ヘルスのプロジェクトに携わっている。短期間ではあるが、ケリチョーで見たもの、食べたもの、学んだこと、発見したこと等をブログで共有していきたい。

Kericho esta situada en el este de Kenya, 4.5 horas desde Nairobi, el capital. Su altitude de 2000 metros y la clima con la lluvia diaria le permitieron un producción gigantico del té, desde hace mucho tiempo. Kericho tiene otro nombre, "el capital del té de Kenya." Yo llegué aquí en el mayo para trabajar en el proyecto de salud comunitario. Quería compartir con ustedes lo que veo, como, aprendo y encuentro a través de este blog.
